Over the span of 40 hours, candidates received comprehensive training designed to build both the knowledge and skills necessary to safely and effectively operate fire apparatus. The course combined classroom instruction with extensive hands-on practice, ensuring each participant developed proficiency in driving techniques and fire pump operations.
Upon completion, personnel were evaluated through both a written examination and a practical skills assessment to meet State and Proferssional Board certification standards.
With a 100% pass rate, every participant successfully earned their certification—demonstrating the dedication, professionalism, and commitment to excellence that define Chatham County Fire Department personnel. The certification was open to personnel form neighboring departments which included Garden City Fire Rescue, Liberty County Fire Rescue and Jesup Fire Department.
